The process of LNG plant basically includes pretreatment (purification), liquefaction, storage, loading and auxiliary systems, etc., and the main process includes raw gas purification and liquefaction process.
Raw gas purification according to the customer's gas source conditions, including filtration, deweighting hydrocarbons, deacidification gas, dehydration, mercury removal and other units.
There are several options for liquefaction process, such as natural gas throttling, nitrogen expansion, nitrogen methane expansion, natural gas expansion, stepped refrigeration cycle, MRC refrigeration, propane precooling + MRC refrigeration, etc.
MRC Process:
The MRC natural gas liquefaction process has the characteristics of low investment, relatively simple device, strong adaptability, low power consumption and relatively easy operation, so it is widely used in new large and medium-sized LNG plants.
The MRC natural gas liquefaction process refers to the use of MR cycle refrigeration to achieve the liquefaction of natural gas. The purified natural gas and the MR (generally a hydrocarbon mixture, such as N2, C1~C5, etc.) are exchanged in the liquefied heat exchanger and cooled and condensed into liquid (i.e. LNG) products; The MR with good ratio is compressed by the MRC compressor and cooled into two streams of gas and liquid in the outlet separator, and the gas is cooled to about -160 °C in the liquefied heat exchanger, and returned to the liquefied heat exchanger to provide cooling capacity after throttling and cooling; Then the liquid is cooled to about -70 °C in the liquefied heat exchanger, cooled down by throttling, and returned to the liquefied heat exchanger to provide cooling capacity, and the reheated MR returns to the MRC compressor inlet to compress again, thus forming a refrigeration cycle.

Expansion refrigeration process:
The expansion mechanism cold process is simple configuration, low investment, fast start-up, easy operation, strong adaptability, natural gas expansion can also use the pipeline network pressure difference energy saving and other characteristics, and is widely used in small and medium-sized LNG plants.
Expansion mechanism cold cycle (according to different refrigerants, expansion mechanism cold cycle can be divided into: nitrogen expansion mechanism cold cycle, nitrogen-methane expansion mechanism cold cycle, natural gas expansion refrigeration cycle) refers to the use of high-pressure refrigerant through the adiabatic expansion of the turboexpander Claude cycle refrigeration to achieve natural gas liquefaction. After the refrigerant is compressed in the refrigerant compressor, it is pressurized by the booster end of the expander, and then enters the liquefied heat exchanger for cooling, and then enters the expansion of the expander and returns to the liquefied heat exchanger to provide cold capacity, and then enters the refrigerant compressor inlet after reheating, thus forming a refrigeration cycle; In order to reduce the energy consumption of the liquefaction process of the expander, an ammonia, freon, propane precooling cycle is generally added to the high temperature section of the liquefied heat exchanger.
